D-Drill

A futuristic hand-drill with an ergonomic appeal.

During an exchange semester in Sweden, there was a design challenge of create a hand drill with futuristic features solved, just taking care about achieveing a perfect ergonomy. The process was different from others because the first step in the design process was to solve the ergonomic needs and after that the function was taken into account for the final shape and forma of the drill.
The futuristic part of the project was the size of the engines and batteries required to make this drill work, they were intended to be a lot more compact than today's drills. After completeing the bluprints, the project continued with some clay models and a final prototype for testing the ergonomy when using the drill.
